GEM Orbital Sander and Polishers were invented to be used by professionals. Whether in the woodworking, automotive, yachting or aviation industries, these orbital sanders and polishers are faster, more efficient, leave no swirl marks, and will not burn or mar the finish.
Invented by GEM Industries Inc. almost 50 years ago, the orbital sander and polishers 'oscillate', duplicating the motion of your hand as if you were waxing the surface. Using an eccentric motion, the orbital system moves like the human hand, only 1720 times faster, meaning the polisher can remain on the surface for longer periods without building up intense heat friction. The actual revolutions per minute are almost zero, therefore always leaves a perfect finish.
In 2001, Gem modified and enhanced the polisher, turning the machine into the hottest sander to hit the Solid Surface and Wood industries in decades. The 11' head cuts sanding time by as much as 70%.
